You might also want to see my updated projects page or my Google Scholar profile to view pdfs of recent papers and posters. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll try to update this page soon. Thanks. - Rajan Vaish 10/13/2013]
[ Note 1: The content below was last updated during Winters of 2010 (before starting grad school), a lot has changed since then. Specially my area of interest has drifted more towards HCI and CSCW, Human Computation and Crowdsourcing, Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICTD) and Social Computing. I try to use my research for a societal impact from HCI perspective, in anyway possible. My recent (and all) publications can be found on my CV or the Google Scholar profile, while some are indexed on DBLP too. I don't do Interconnection Networks research anymore, however, I serve on TPC of some of the related conferences (see Academic Services on my CV). I'll try to update this page too, at some point of time. However, for a quick glance you might want to check the Projects page. I would love to chat about my research (and yours), feel free to contact me. Thanks. - Rajan Vaish 11/03/2012 ].
============================= Older work [updated Winter 2010, before grad school] ==========================
I am quite an interdisciplinary person with a Computer Sciences background, and generally dive into research projects which interest me. Till date I have published my work in some of the top international journals and conferences including, “The Journal of Supercomputing(Springer)” and “The 2009 World Congress in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Applied Computing” (all tracks including FCS and PDTPA within which have now been listed as “Top-ranked Conferences” by Microsoft Academic Search based on no. of citations to papers). I’ve also served as Technical Program Committee member (TPC) and reviewer(R) at several international conferences globally. Primarily my publication and research experience lies in the areas of:
a) Parallel Computing and Interconnection Networks [PC&IN]. (Related to adaptive routing algorithms developed over Torus and X-Torus topologies during congestion). [ Associated mentors: Dr. Nitin (Distinguished Adjunct Professor at University of Nebraska, Omaha), together we co-founded High-end Parallel Computing and Advanced Computer Architecture Lab at Jaypee University IT, India. ]
b) Human-Computer Interaction [HCI]. (Related to accessibility/assistive technology and educational/health projects ). [Associated mentors: Dr. Shari Trewin (Accessibility Researcher, IBM Watson Research Center, New York/ACM ASSETS 2009 Chair); Dr. Udai Narain Sinha (Associate Professor, University of Lucknow, India); Thomas Logan (VP R&D and CTO at HiSoftware Inc. US, ex- Program Manager at Accessibility Technology Group, Microsoft Redmond, USA); Dr. Artem Dudarev (PostDoc at Max-Planck-Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme, Germany)]
c) Artificial Intelligence [AI]. (Related to ant colony optimization and ant swarm intelligence). [Associated mentors: Dr. Satish Chandra (Assistant Professor, Jaypee University IT, India) ]
d) Natural Language Processing [NLP]. (Related to semantic mapping and parsing of requirements and processes during software engineering phases). [Associated mentors: Accenture Technology Labs team]
